Symposium on Shahnameh: A Collaborative Effort Between the University of Isfahan and Turkish Universities

Coinciding with the birthday of Ferdowsi, the celebrated Persian poet, the University of Isfahan hosted a preliminary meeting to plan the upcoming international symposium on *Shahnameh*.

This virtual meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad AmirYousefi, Director of the Office of International Scientific Cooperation at the University of Isfahan; Dr. Najafi, a faculty member of the Department of Persian Language and Literature; and several esteemed professors from Fatih Sultan University, Istanbul Technical University, and Byzantine University in Turkey. The discussion focused on the initial planning stages of the symposium and highlighted the significance of *Shahnameh* as a vital part of Persian literary heritage in fostering academic and cultural ties.

The symposium will feature diverse sections, including a painting exhibition inspired by *Shahnameh*, specialized sessions on manuscript studies, and workshops on Persian miniature painting. It will also serve as a platform for scholars and students to present research papers on topics related to *Shahnameh*, Persian literature, history, and traditional arts.

The primary goals of the symposium are to honor the legacy of Ferdowsi and *Shahnameh* as treasures of Persian culture and to promote academic and research collaboration between Iranian and Turkish universities.
